Mad River Steering Committee, Inc

The Mad River Steering Committee, Inc., was organized in 1993. The Committee has established by-laws, a watershed plan and has received their 501(c)(3) status. The current Upper Mad River Watershed Protection Project is funded in part by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency through section 319 of the Clean Water Act.

The seven main objectives of the current grant and strategic plan include the following:

• manure process system
• construction best management practices seminars
• well water screenings
• habitat improvement
• surface water quality monitoring
• education and outreach
• nitrogen reduction program

From now until June 2006, the Mad River Watershed will be revising the strategic plan and the associated future action plan. Please send any recommendations and comments to Jennifer Ganson.
